Bermudian Players Feature in Busy Pre-Season Action

IslandStats.com
Bermudian footballers were in action across England this weekend, with mixed results for their respective clubs as pre-season preparations and early cup ties get underway.

Wins for Martin, Hill and Lambe

Keziah Martin and Deniche Hill both tasted victory as their Buxton Football Club side secured a 2-0 away win against Warrington Town FC. The win will be a boost for the team as they continue to build momentum ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Reggie Lambe's Needham Market also celebrated a win, edging out local rivals Lowestoft Town with a tight 1-0 scoreline at Crown Meadow.

Milan Butterfield and his Halesowen Town teammates had a particularly successful outing, claiming the Brookes-Clark Charity Shield with a comfortable 2-0 win over Stourbridge FC.

Mixed Fortunes in Cup and Friendlies

Harry Twite and his Loughborough Student FC teammates were in competitive action, battling to a 1-1 draw against Barton in the Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round. The two teams will now face off again on Tuesday for a replay to decide who advances.

However, it was a tough day for Justin Donawa and Brackley Town FC. After entering the pre-season friendly against Stratford Town FC in the 77th minute, Donawa unfortunately headed a ball into his own net in the 88th minute, which proved to be the winning goal in a 2-1 defeat.

In their final pre-season game, Willie Clemons and Leiston FC went down 3-0 to Norfolk, a result they'll be looking to put behind them as they shift their focus to the new campaign. Remy Coddington came off the bench, but he could not prevent Bracknell Town FC from going down 3 - 1 to Dulwich Hamlet FC in a pre-season friendly at the SB Stadium.

Quorn Football Club can confirm that midfielder Roger Lee has left the club, signing with UCL Premier North side Heanor Town. The Bermuda international joined the club midway through the 2024/25 season, helping the Methodists to the Northern Premier League Midlands Division title. Lee made his debut with Heanor town in their Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round 3 - 1 defeat to Dudley Town FC at the New Manor Ground.
