Bermudian Olympian Erica Hawley is enjoying a remarkable 2025 triathlon season, marked by consistent top-ten finishes and impressive back-to-back podium appearances, significantly boosting her world rankings.
Hawley's strong year began with a 9th place finish at the World Triathlon Cup Napier, followed by a 7th place at the Americas Triathlon Cup Miami. She then competed in the elite World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama, securing a 28th place finish.
However, it's her recent performances in Canada that have truly highlighted her form. Hawley reached the podium with a 2nd place finish at the Americas Triathlon Cup Magog, and then followed that up with a superb 3rd place at the 2025 Americas Triathlon Cup Montreal.
Her consistent results have seen a significant improvement in her standing. Hawley is now ranked 80th in the World Ranking, 83rd in the World Triathlon Championship Series, and an impressive 60th in the Individual Olympic Qualification Ranking, while holding the 16th spot in the Continental rankings.
Posting on social media, a delighted Hawley remarked: "Back to back podiums in Canada! 3rd place in Montreal was definitely a surprise with how I was feeling, but once I started running I was in that flow state. The last couple months have really tested me but my decision to come to Canada was the right one."
Hawley's ability to perform at the highest level, particularly under pressure and with a busy race schedule, underscores her dedication and talent. Her current trajectory suggests a very promising outlook for the remainder of the season and beyond.
