Rémi Marcoux (Mixte Rayon d'Argent/VC Sandy Ground) has won the latest stage of the Tour de Marie-Galante, a demanding 140.8-kilometre race between Capesterre and Grand-Bourg. Marcoux clocked a time of 3 hours, 26 minutes, and 31 seconds, triumphing in a two-man sprint finish ahead of Gabin Vedel (Guidon Sprinter Canalien CT). His teammate Jahkim Carty completed the podium.
It was another challenging day on the roads for Bermudian Kaden Hopkins. Having started the Tour strongly with a prologue victory, Hopkins has faced an uphill battle since losing the yellow jersey in stage two.
Despite an early effort where he was part of a strong quartet looking to establish an advantage, the relentless pace and demanding terrain continued to take their toll. Hopkins eventually finished the stage in 26th position, clocking 3 hours, 36 minutes, and 17 seconds – 9 minutes and 46 seconds behind stage winner Marcoux.
Benjamin Le Ny (Team CAMA CCD) continues to maintain his overall lead in the general classification, with a combined time of 11 hours, 4 minutes, and 2 seconds. Hopkins now stands 28th overall, with an aggregate time of 11 hours, 33 minutes, and 29 seconds, placing him 29 minutes and 27 seconds behind the overall leader.
Hopkins will be looking for a change in fortune as the Tour de Marie-Galante progresses through its final stages.
