Pilgrim & Durkin Crowned National Sprint Triathlon Champions

Nicholas Pilgrim and Maddie Durkin were today crowned the Male and Female Liberty Mutual National Sprint Triathlon Champions after a challenging day of racing through the streets of Hamilton.
Nicholas Pilgrim put in a dominant performance in the Open Male category, clocking a winning time of 58 minutes flat. His race splits included a swift 10:02 in the swim, followed by a strong 29:42 on the bike, and a commanding 17:42 run. Pilgrim's victory was emphatic, finishing more than three minutes clear of his nearest rival. Jackson Langley secured second place, crossing the line in 1:01:08, with splits of 11:49 for the swim, 31:15 on the bike, and a rapid 17:20 run. Alex Pilgrim rounded out the podium, clocking 1:04:32, with a 12:13 swim, 30:44 bike, and 19:39 run.
In the Open Female Division, Maddie Durkin claimed the national title, finishing an impressive sixth overall with a time of 1:07:30. Durkin exited the water in 12:46, completed the bike course in 33:52, and finished her run in 19:37. The second female finisher, Lynsey Palmer, crossed the line eighth overall in 1:11:41, with splits of 12:12 (swim), 36:49 (bike), and 21:42 (run). Meghan Diel secured the third spot on the female podium, clocking 1:14:49, after a 15:27 swim, 37:20 bike, and 21:11 run.
The Junior Triathlon categories also saw strong competition. Jens Drea claimed the Junior Male title with a time of 37:36, followed by Jasper Lau in second with 39:49, and Ethan Smith in third with 40:49. In the Junior Female event, Isla Cooze emerged victorious, crossing the line in 43:09. Sofia Leclerc was just behind in second at 43:15, and Zara Bule rounded out the podium with a time of 43:26.
The event, held in the heart of Hamilton, showcased the strength and depth of Bermuda's triathlon talent across all age groups.
