White Sets New Record & Age Group Champions Crowned

Following the conclusion of the Ascot Bermuda National Swimming Championships, we now turn our attention to the individual age group rankings, celebrating the top performers and highlighting a further national record that was broken.

Jorgia White etched her name in the record books, establishing a new 15-16 Girls 1500 LC Meter Freestyle Record with an impressive time of 19 minutes, 34.89 seconds (19:34.89). This adds to the excitement of the championships, showcasing the emerging talent within Bermuda's swimming ranks.

In the overall Individual Age Group Championships, Allison Steynor of the Sharks Swim Club emerged as the champion in the 12 & Under Girls category, amassing a total of 2,312 points. Eva Desjardins, representing the Harbour Amateur Swim Club, finished a close second with 2,225 points, while her Harbour teammate Colette Durkin took third place with 2,213 points.

The 12 & Under Boys champion was Walker Smith from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club, who collected 1,379 points. Camden Collette of the Sharks Swim Club finished second with 1,277 points, and Owen Fosker, also from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club, rounded out the top three with 1,233 points.

The 13 & Over Girls championship was claimed by Marleigh Howes of the Sharks Swim Club, who accumulated an impressive 4,175 points. Katherine Wheddon, representing the Harbour Amateur Swim Club, finished second with 3,288 points, and Elanna Fulton from the Sharks Swim Club took third place with 3,097 points.

Finally, Sam Williamson of the Harbour Amateur Swim Club was crowned the 13 & Over Boys champion with a strong total of 4,226 points. Logan Jones from the Sharks Swim Club finished second with 3,738 points, and his Sharks teammate Brian Desmond secured third place with 3,736 points.

These individual age group rankings highlight the strength and depth of swimming talent across Bermuda, with athletes from various clubs showcasing their dedication and skill throughout the Ascot National Swimming Championships. The emergence of new record holders like Jorgia White alongside consistent top performers bodes well for the future of Bermudian swimming.
