Dashun Cooper was part of the jubilant scenes at Loftus Road as the Queens Park Rangers (QPR) Development Squad were crowned Premier League Cup champions after a resounding 3-1 victory over their west London rivals, Brentford. The win sparked celebrations amongst the coaching staff and young players alike.
Cooper, speaking to www.islandstats.com, shared his involvement with the QPR academy goalkeepers throughout the season. "So over this season I’ve had the chance to cover a few sessions and games for the GKs in the 18s and 21s," Cooper explained, highlighting his role in the development of the club's young custodians.
He also expressed his gratitude for the collaborative environment within the QPR coaching setup. "It has been a massive pleasure working with Lead Academy GK coach Jack Hadley and PDP coaches Paul Furlong, Micah Hyde, Tom Charles & Scott Marshall," Cooper added, emphasizing the team effort behind the academy's success.
The atmosphere at QPR is clearly buoyant following this significant achievement. "Everyone at the club is buzzing," Cooper confirmed. "Winning the Premier League Cup at Loftus Road in front of almost 10,000 was a tremendous feat and everyone’s very happy to have won. Leading up to the final, the preparation was spot on from everybody. It was a massive team effort and it paid dividends."
