Erica Hawley finished in 28th place at the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Series event in Yokohama, Japan. In demanding, rainy conditions that made the 40-kilometre bike course a particularly hazardous element, Hawley completed the Olympic-distance course in a time of 1 hour, 55 minutes, and 37 seconds.
The victory went to Jeanne Lehair, who clocked an impressive winning time of 1 hour, 51 minutes, and 33 seconds, leaving Hawley 4 minutes and 3 seconds adrift of the top spot.
Hawley's race began with a solid 1.5-kilometre swim, which she completed in 19 minutes and 58 seconds. She then faced the treacherous 40-kilometre bike leg, navigating the slippery conditions to record a time of 56 minutes and 52 seconds. Hawley concluded the Olympic-distance event with a 10-kilometre run, crossing the finish line in 37 minutes and 34 seconds.
While a podium finish eluded her in Yokohama, Hawley's performance in challenging weather conditions against a world-class field demonstrates her resilience and determination on the World Triathlon Championship Series circuit.
