Blake Montgomery and his London Knights teammates have continued their dominant playoff run, securing their third consecutive series sweep to advance to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) final. The Knights clinched their spot with a decisive 4-2 victory over the Kitchener Rangers at the Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday night.
This latest triumph marks an unblemished record of 12 wins and zero losses for the London Knights throughout these playoffs, highlighting their exceptional form and relentless pursuit of the J. Ross Robertson Cup.
Defenseman Sam Dickinson played a key role in the victory, scoring his seventh goal of the post-season midway through the first period to put London ahead 2-1. The Knights then built on their lead with two further goals by the middle of the third period, establishing a cushion that proved insurmountable for the Kitchener Rangers.
Dickinson also contributed an assist to the scoresheet, while Easton Cowan, Oliver Bonk, and Jacob Julien all recorded multi-point efforts, showcasing the depth and talent within the London Knights' roster.
Now, Montgomery and his teammates will await the outcome of the OHL's other semi-final series between the Oshawa Generals and the Barrie Colts. The Generals currently hold a commanding 3-0 lead in that series and have the opportunity to complete a sweep of their own when they face the Colts in Oshawa on Thursday night. The London Knights will be keenly observing to discover who their opponents will be in the quest for the OHL championship.
