 Nia Christopher and her Towson Women's Soccer teammates moved their win streak to five and unbeaten streak to six in a 3 - 0 win against Stony Brook. Towson got a pair of late first-half goals and never looked back in the win.
Towson outshot Stony Brook 9-1 in the opening 45 minutes. Christopher, Maja Hansson, and Phoebe Canoles all scored for Towson in the win.
Both teams battled for early possession in the first half with Canoles registering the only shot for either team in the first 15 minutes of play.
Towson would break through in the 27th minute. Christopher would slot home a shot off a beautiful feed from Sydney Cradle in the midfield to give Towson a 1-0 lead.
From there Towson would find their rhythm offensively with Jasmine Hamid getting a good look in the 37th minute, but her attempt was saved.
Hansson gave Towson a 2 - 0 lead just seconds before halftime. Hansson netted her first career goal off a corner kick from Canoles to make it 2 - 0 at the break.
Stony Brook would come out and put some shots on target, but each time Riley Melendez was up to the task to keep it 2 - 0.
Towson would add an insurance goal in the 61st minute. Canoles would find the back of the net off a cross from Hamid who get a through ball from Alexandra Rush to make it 3 - 0.
Christopher has now scored in her last three games and has a point in her last five.
