Bermuda concluded the 2013 Carifta Games in the Bahamas with a Medal Count of 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals.
Heading into the 2013 Carifta Games many had high hopes for Kyrah Scraders and she certainly did not disappoint the large group of Bermudians that made their way to the Bahamas for the Games.
Scraders captured the Gold Medal in the Under 17 Girls 800m Race, she crossed the line in a time of 2:11.62 to claim her second medal of the Games following her Silver Medal performance in the 1500m.
College coaches watching the Games where left asking each other who this young girl was, Scraders if she was not before is on their radar now.
Juma Mouchette was not leaving Bahamas, this his final Carifta Games without a Medal as he ran his heart out to win the Bronze Medal in the Under 20 Boys 5000m race clocking a time of 16:55.00.
Justin Donowa, finished 5th in the Under 20 Boy’s Triple Jump with a top leap of 14.92m. Donawa hit his mark on his first attempt before recording two Foul Jumps, he then leaped 13.81m on his fourth attempt.
Ethan Phillips finished 9th in the Under 17 Boys Long Jump with a top leap of 6.25m, Quaashie Douglas finished 10th taking part in the Under 17 Girls 800m and Nathan Hartwig finished 5th in the Under 20 Boys 5000m race clocking 17:49.34.
