Tyrone Smith took part in the inaugural IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup which got underway in Split, Croatia. Smith was part of the Americas team that took on teams representing Africa, , Asia/Pacific and Europe.
Smith finished 5th in the Men’s Long Jump with a leap of 7.91.
It was easy does it for World champion Dwight Phillips as he cruised to victory to pick up maximum points in the men’s long jump with a first round leap of 8.34m.
Smith’s first leap was his best attempt, he then jumped 7.90, 7.68 and 7.78.
