Tyrone Smith competed in the Palio della Quercia Track Meet in Rovereto, Italy.
Smith finished 3rd in the Men’s Long Jump, with a leap of 7.73m. Aleksander Menkov from Russia won the event with a leap of 8.10m, while Morten Jensen from Denmark finished second with a leap of 7.85m.
Smith had a foul on his first attempt before leaping 7.26 on his second attempt. Smith improved the next time up when he jumped 7.57 and then he leaped 7.38 on his fourth attempt.
With two attempts remaining Smith gave it his all leaping the 7.73 distance on his fifth attempt, but he then had a foul of the sixth and final attempt.
