Tyrone Smith’s leap of 8.22m at the CAC Games did not just earn him a spot on the Americas team competing in the Continental Cup in September 4th & 5th in Croatia, it also saw him record one of the top 25 leaps in the World this year.
On July 27th, Smith won the Gold Medal in the Men’s Long Jump with a leap of 8.22m. Smith’s first attempt saw him leap 7.70, before jumping 7.58 in his second attempt. Smith then jumped 7.73, 7.87, and 7.91 in leaps 3, 4 and 5, but on his final leap Smith jumped to the Gold Medal.
