An excited Bermuda Track and Field Association’s (BTFA) President Donna Watson said “The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) has presented a cheque to Tre Houston for his endeavors in the UK of $10,000.00. This is great news for Houston and the BTFA”.
Houston who departed for the UK last evening and upon his arrival he had this reaction to the news. "Man you put a big smile on my face just now reading the message about the funding, I would like to thank the BOA very much for the funding, I’ve got to go hard this year once again Thanks”,
The BTFA also announced the BOA also presented $1,166.00 each to three possible Youth Olympic Athletes to prepare for the region's qualifying event which is the Carifta Games. Watson said, “The athletes are Jeneko Place, Taylor Ashley Bean and Trey Simons. We are hoping to get them in at least 2 meets before Carifta to get them ready. This money has come out of the Youth Olympic Solidarity Fund and Houston’s is out of the Delhi Commonwealth Solidarity Fund.
