Sophomore transfer Latroya Darrell was one of the many Georgia’s track and field athletes that contributed to the school’s unbelievable run during the opening day of the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va..
In addition to Darrell’s performance, Georgia added three more NCAA provisional qualifying marks to highlight day One.
“This was an unbelievable first day with some extremely impressive personal-best efforts,” said head coach Wayne Norton. “I thought it was a great start to the weekend and it makes me excited to see what we can do on day two.”
Darrell recorded her first provisional qualifying mark at Georgia in the triple jump when she finished in second-place. Darrell had her best jump on her sixth attempt and finished with a mark of 41-8.
This moved Darrell from eighth to seventh in the University of Georgia’s record books.
