Troy Douglas who has been selected as the National Coach of the Dutch Relay Team thru to 2012 took some time out to help work with a few athletes at the National Sports Center.

Douglas spent this afternoon working with his niece Eulannae Douglas who currently attends Central Arizona and is a sprinter.

Douglas worked on her rhythm running as well as her ability to get out of the blocks fast, also at the track offering athletes advice was Brian Wellman.

During a brief conversation prior to working with the athletes both Douglas and Wellman talked about how they can assist Bermuda with the athletes mental ability. The pair both agree that Bermuda athletes have the talent but lack that killer instinct that separates them from the rest of the competing world.

Wellman said, “What drove me was my own will to win, no matter where I went I always wanted to beat the best and I worked hard in training to improve”.

Douglas said, “We all want the best for our athletes, but the one thing that must happen first is they must want to be the best for themselves, we can give them all the training and advice, but they have to carry out the task at hand in order to do better”.
