The Stanford No. 8 men's and Arantxa King’s No. 25th ranked women's track and field teams are set to compete in the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for June 10-13, at Arkansas' John McDonnell field in Fayetteville, Ark.
Bermudians will get a chance to see King in action as CBS will be airing the championships. They are scheduled to go live from the track Friday, June 12, 6-9 p.m. on CBS College Sports and Saturday, June 13, 12-2 p.m. on CBS. All times CST. Live streaming will be through NCAA.com and ArkansasRazorbacks.com. Live streaming will take place whenever CBS College Sports and CBS are not airing events live.
Stanford will have nine women in 10 events and nine men competing against the top athletes from around the nation. The men will be looking to get back in the top 10 for the first time since 2005 when they finished seventh. They have won four outdoor NCAA titles, the last of which came in 2000. The women placed sixth just last year and have a best finish of third in 1984. They will be looking for their seventh top 10 finish of this decade.
Stanford will be looking for a top Individual Finish from 2008 Olympian King who will compete after struggling at the regional. King ranks ninth heading into the competition, but is one of the most talented jumpers in the nation and could place much higher.
