 Warwick Football Acamedy continued participation on day two in the NE Surf Challenge tournament in Boston.
WFA has 6 teams in the tournament, through the invite of International Development Academy.
Day 1 saw a positive start for the WFA teams with favorable results allowing every team to have a chance of advancing to the finals. The competition on day 2 would become more challenging and testing.
Update results day 2:
WFA u13 girls were defeated 6-0 by the South Shore Select 11 Impact Navy in their 2nd group game.
WFA U10 girls defeated the New England Surf Metro South 1-0 to advance to the finals of the silver division. Goal scorer Millie Adolph.
WFA U12 Boys were defeated 2-1 by Surf Raiders FC in a match that would determine the group winner who advanced to the final. Goal Scorer for WFA - Ariche Simmons Astwood - who finishes with 10 goals from 3 games.
WFA U9 Boys advanced to the final after defeating New England Surf Metro West 2015 Boys Sky- score 5-3 ( David Gutteridge 2, Levi Mello, Landon Frank, Sebastian Hughes)
WFA U10 Boys advanced to the final despite despite being held to a 2-2 draw against Surf Raiders FC 2014 Blue. Goal Scorers: Eoin Muirhead, Jaden Waldron
WFA U11 Girls drew 0-0 in third game. Came in third so didn’t make final. Overall went 1-0-2 and had no goals allowed all tournament. Overall a good result and experience
WFA U10 girls lost 1-0 in the final to Lightening Soccer Club. Congratulations on finishing as finalists!
WFA U13 Girls bounced back after a tough loss to finish the tournament with a 2-2 draw against South Shore 2011 IMPACT Black. Goal Scorer: Annabelle Shah 2
