Joshua Joseph, Stefan Simmons, Shane Robinson, and their Thomas College Men’s Soccer teammates was outdueled by Husson University in pouring rain and high winds on senior night, falling 3 – 1.
Thomas largely dominated the first 10 minutes, with Joseph forcing Alex Rechsteiner to make two good saves.
Husson University struck first in the 16th minute, taking a 1-0 lead, one minute later, Kris Loubier's shot forced another save out of Rechsteiner.
In the 27th minute, Carter Pelletier found Joseph, who scored to level the game up at one goal apiece.
Husson University didn't let momentum stop them and scored in the 33rd minute to take back the lead.
Husson University added another in the 40th minute, but four minutes later would pick up a red card, playing a man down for the entire second half.
At this point in the game, heavy rain and high winds affected the rhythm of play for both teams.
In the 58th minute, Jack Thompson took a long range shot, but the effort was saved by Samuel Bermudez.
Matthew Gosselin followed that up with a save of his own a minute later, denying a Husson University chance.
Both teams struggled to maintain control of the ball in the remaining time, as the conditions continued to worsen.
Thomas were unable to take advantage of playing a player up, and the game ended in a 3 - 1 loss.
