The 2021 season came to a close for Detre Bell and his University of Louisville Men's Soccer teammates with a 1-0 loss against Bowling Green in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
Bell and his teammates wrap up the season with a 10-7-1 overall record and their 13th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 15 seasons. Louisville also captured its first ACC Atlantic Division title with a 5-3-0 mark in conference play.
Bowling Green found the back of the net in the 30th minute. A cross from the left settled in the center of the box and was banged off the inside of the left post for the opening strike.
Bell helped keep Louisville in the match with a trio of saves with his teammates in search of the tying goal.
