Josh Jones headed home a free-kick from Sander Roed in the 102nd minute to lead Detre Bell and his University of Louisville Men's Soccer teammates to a thrilling 5-4 win over the Syracuse Orange from SU Soccer Stadium.
Louisville got off to a fast start in the conference road opener, netting the match's first goal on a Pedro Fonseca penalty kick in the 18th minute. Syracuse responded to tie the game at one-all before Fonseca converted his second penalty kick of the match in the 22nd minute to place Louisville ahead, 2-1.
Syracuse responded in the 27th minute on a Deandre Kerr goal before each defense settled into entering the half-knotted at two.
Louisville continued to apply pressure on the Syracuse backline out of the break, which quickly paid off in the 46th minute as Camara connected on his fourth goal of the season to take back the lead.
After Syracuse scored to tie the game at 3-3, the Cardinals answered at the 68th minute when Ugochukwu Achara controlled a ball off a failed clear attempt and drove a shot past the outstretched goalkeeper to put the Cardinals up 4-3.
Syracuse responded once again in the 80th minute to send the game into extra time at 4-4.
