Jaaziah Van-Lowe would captain the Bowers and Pitsea team as they defeated Leyton Orient Academy 2 - 1.
Van-Lowe commented, “It was the toughest game we ever played.”
Bowers is known for being a very dominant team, but they were in for a shock against Leyton, as some of the strongest Bowers players got knocked on the ground.
The first half was tough, Bowers threw everything they had at Leyton, but no matter what they tried, they couldn't get the upper hand. Leyton would take the lead in the first half, but Bowers would show the determination and fight to get back into the game in the second half and also get a winner.
“As captain, it was my job to motivate my team,” continued Van-Lowe. “At the end of the first half, the score was 1 - 0.”
Van-Lowe went on to say, “I wanted to win and knew I had to dig deep as a goalkeeper and even deeper as the captain. I'm pleased to say that I was crowned man of the match as I did my best and lead my team into a 2-1 victory.”
Van-Lowe concluded, “This was my first time as captain and I feel I done well.”
