Trott Helps West Ham Shutout Manchester United

IslandStats.com
Nathan Trott and his West Ham United Under 23 teammates took on Manchester United Under 23’s at the Rush Green Stadium in their Premier League 2 clash.

Trott was called upon to make a save in the 22nd minute, Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri weaved his way down the right and pulled it back low to the penalty spot, where the ball fell to Anthony Elanga whose low, accurate shot saw Trott get down low to kick it away.

West Ham United took the lead in the 32nd minute, with a lovely approach play from Keenan Forson and Bernardo Rosa, the latter found Dan Chesters in acres of space within the penalty area. The midfielder made a very mature decision to slide it across the face of goal - where Oladapo Afolayan was waiting to tap it in, but Will Fish's tackle diverted it in.

20 seconds into the second half and West Ham United were awarded a penalty, Chesters scampered down the left and he was brought down from behind, just inside the area. Afolayan sent the keeper in the wrong direction to double the lead.

Trott was in the thick of things in the 72nd minute as he raced from his line to collect a through ball ahead of Shola Shoretire. In the 76th minute Hannibal Mejbri goes for the near-post strike from a free kick which Trott beat away.

In stoppage time a great save was made by Trott, Joe Hugill turned just inside the area and curls towards the far post - but West Ham's No1 dove to turn it away.

Trott and his teammates with the win are off the mark in Premier League 2 this season with three thoroughly deserved points at Rush Green.
