Sheffield United Under 16 – 1 ISFA Under 17 – 3
Jarryd Richardson and his Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) under 17 teammates made a strong and competitive start in the tricky wet January conditions defeating Sheffield United’s Under 16 team 3 – 1.
Midway through the first half, Nto and Richardson went close to opening the score, only to be denied by two outstanding saves by the Sheffield United goal keeper.
Against the run of play and just before half time, the premier league youth side took the lead with a smart and delicate 1 on 1 finish into the bottom right corner.
Fresh changes at half time, helped ISFA maintain the attacking pressure on Sheffield’s defense and goal area. Nto levelled the score, when he converted a fine run and powerful shot into the left corner of the Sheffield goal.
Moments later, Jones put ISFA 2-1 up with a neatly taken penalty kick into the roof of the Sheffield net.
Several more chances came ISFA’s way and Whitwell rounded off an excellent second half performance when heading home from close range to make the final score of 3-1.
