Zeiko Harris and his Appalachian State Men's Soccer teammates claimed a 3-0 victory over Howard University a team that featured another Bermuda player in Matteo Turner in the opening round of the Sun Belt Men's Soccer Championship.
Appalachian State advance to the Semi-Finals and are set to take on the No. 2 seed Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
With the win, App State moves to 11-6-1, its highest win total since the 2002 season when the Mountaineers recorded 13 wins. Howard ends its season at 5-12-1.
Appalachian State used two first half goals, and a goal at the end of the second half to take the win over Howard. Mason Robicheaux got the scoring started in the 20th minute, finishing a corner kick sent into the box by Dimitris Moraitakis for Robicheaux'a second goal and game-winner of the season.
Marc Pfrogner added the insurance goal in the 44th minute, finishing a well-played ball from Nick Rogers. That is Pfrogner's first goal of the season and first assist for Nick Rogers.
Alex Hernandez capped the night with his fifth goal of the season, converting a penalty kick in the final seconds of the game to give the Mountaineers' the 3-0 advantage.
