Bermuda Archers Compete in Indoor World Series

Nearly 3000 archers from around 80 countries registered for the Indoor Archery World Series recently.

This is the first time Bermuda Archers have taken part in a World Series Event. Ten archers from Bermuda took part in the 18 meters, 60 arrow shoot on a 40 cm target.

The weather was not the best for Jaydon Roberts and Trina Roberts who shot the tournament outside due to (Covid Travel Restrictions) and challenged with wind and rain.

They battled through and were able to still place well for Bermuda and have achieved Personal Best. The other five Archers were able to shoot indoors at the St. George's Community Centre and were able to achieve some Personal Best scores.

The President of the National Archery Association, Ross Roberts reflected saying, “Overall we are pleased with the results from our local archers. Some were challenged with the outdoor conditions however overall the team placed well against the other competing countries.”

Men's Recurve 780 Competitors

Camerin Pickering finished 164th score 553/600. (Personal Best)
Bernard Wade finished 215th score 542/600 (Personal Best)
Robert O’Connor finished 265th score 533/600 (Personal Best)
Jaydon Roberts finished 439th score 490 (Personal Best)
Alleyne Weeks finished 513th score 461/600 (Personal Best)

Women's Recurve 435 Competitors

Robin Selley finished 276th score 424 (Personal Best)
Trina Roberts finished 309th score 364 (Personal Best)

The series continues into December 2020 where the archers will come to the line again against the other 79 countries in the world.
