In just under a week, Bermuda will be represented at the “Badge of the Badges”.
The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) have been invited by the Halton Regional Police Department to travel to Canada to participate in an Emergency Services Charity Boxing Event, the “BATTLE OF THE BADGES.”
Eleven BPS Officers including the Commissioner’s Staff Officer Calvin Smith, Police Sergeant and Chairman of the Police Boxing Section will be traveling.
Smith said, “The BPS Boxing Section see this as a good opportunity for the BPS and have identified a suitable boxer and full member of the Bermuda Police Service Boxing Section Dejon Benjamin and BPS Boxing Trainer Kevin Simmons to represent us at this event. As you are aware Simmons has been involved in our boxing program for over 20 years.”
This event is scheduled to take place on Friday 26 April 2019, and will be held at the Burlington Convention Centre, before a crowd of over 1100 people.
“Badge of the Badges” is Southern Ontario’s premier night out, a charity boxing event featuring Emergency Services.

Smith concluded, “This event brings families and friends from the various regions and presents and excellent opportunity for the Bermuda Police Service and our Boxing Section to reinvigorate our boxing program with a view of re-starting our Annual Police Boxing Night. A very popular event in the islands and BPS sporting calendar that we hosted for years.”
