Vanessa James and Morgan Ciprès erased the slight doubts of the court as they won the ISU GP International de France 2018 Pairs Figure Skating event.
Despite James missing her triple jump, everything went as planned, including jumps thrown that got warm receptions showing they have worked hard.
James and Morgan finished the Short Programme in 3rd and then 1s in the Freestyle Skating Programme to win with a score of 205.77 in Grenoble.
James said, “I'm lucky to be very well surrounded, Morgan has found the words, Maé with whom I share my room and who is a great girlfriend. Everyone has found nice words, Kevin, Guillaume, we are really like a family. I needed their support, I thank them!”
James concluded, “Charlie White has put together the whole base of our free program. Then we worked a lot with our coaches to make things more complex. After Skate Canada we re-watched our programs, discussed with the judges, and back on the ice, we took all the parts where we skate too flat, or on two feet. Quickly we say 'there, we must add something'. On each competition we progress, the programs always move a little to be even better next time.”
