Over the next week, sports that get no coverage by other media locally will get headline treatment, with the likes of the Bermuda National Basketball team currently playing in the Caribbean Basketball Championships, Bermuda Ball Hockey team playing in the World Championships in Switzerland, the Fed Cup Tennis team will be heading out to the Dominican Republic and Bermuda’s Swimmers who will compete in the CCCAN in Barbados.
The Bermuda Basketball Associations sanctioned League season ran for some 5 months two nights a week and nothing, the Ball Hockey League moved from the Street Ball style to Inline Skating and has been running for more than 6 months and nothing, a Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association sanctioned tournament was held last week and nothing and the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association has held several swim Meets over the year and nothing.
It would appear that things for some only get reported when the organization writes it for them and eventually they will realize that organization actually pay people to do just that.
It is time for Athletes, Coaches, Managers and Presidents to say - IF YOU DON’T HAVE TIME FOR US WE DON’T HAVE TIME FOR YOU.
