Islandstats.com can confirm that three members of the Bermuda Football Association earlier this month attended a Match Commissioner’s Training Course held by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA).
The one-day seminar was held with more than 90 officials from across the CONCACAF region.
Islandstats.com asked Bermuda Football Association General Secretary David Sabir three questions regarding the seminar.

Q. What information discussed at the Course can be shared publicly? A. The seminar focused on regulations governing the duties of FIFA / CONCACAF Match Commissioners who will be used for various matches involving the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, CONCACAF Champions League and Gold Cup. The seminar also addressed the various protocols associated with all matches and the expectations that FIFA has regarding the performance of being a match commissioner. Other topics focused on the role of the Match Commissioner (MC), the Match Coordination Meeting (MCM), FIFA Pre-Match ceremony, Marketing matters, Match Reporting, Legal Issues, Integrity and prevention of match manipulation, Media operations Guidelines.
Q. How many Match Commissioners do we have registered in Bermuda? A. 14 at the Senior Level and 6-8 at the Junior Level
