Saltus Grammar School has been chosen to host the 2014 Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) Football Tournament. Saltus is a co-ed K-12 private school, which opened in 1888, and as such recently celebrated their 125th anniversary.
There is a rich history between Saltus and Canadian private schools, and they have competed regularly in exhibition games in Soccer, Basketball, Cricket, Field Hockey and Rugby. Accreditation and acceptance by CAIS in 2008 saw a formalization of competition as Saltus were invited to participate in the Soccer Tournaments (Male & Female) and an Invitational Field Hockey Tournament.
Saltus are thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome so many CAIS schools to Bermuda. For some this will be their first visit, for others it will be a chance to catch up with friends already made here.
The tournament will be held between October 16th – 18th, 2014, at the National Sports Center Fields (NSC), the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) Field, Bermuda Athletic Association (BAA) Field and Saltus Field.
The NSC will host the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, October 15th on the Main Stadium Field.
