The Bermuda Gymnastics Association have announced that nineteen gymnasts will attend the Manhattan Classic Invitational in New York City over the weekend of January 25th - 26th, 2014.
They will be joined by BGA coaches Mandi Baughman, Chris Nelligan, and Molly Newbury.
Amanda Baughman the Assistant Team Coach of Bermuda Gymnastics said, “The Bermuda team will join hundreds of talented young athletes from around the USA in this prestigious competition. It is our fourth trip to this Invitational and we are sending a large team as we have found it a stellar competitive experience in the past.”
“This is a vital competition for the gymnasts as they are trying to attain a qualification score for the USAIGC World Championship to be held in June. We have had gymnasts qualify to the Championships for many years and hope to send a strong team this time around,” continued Baughman.
The team will depart Bermuda on Friday, January 24th and will compete on Saturday the 25th. We will have teams in the USAIGC Copper, Bronze, and Silver levels, as well as an individual competing in the Level 9 USA Gymnastics session.
