Kaden Hopkins and his Equipo Essax teammates have spent a total of 5 days of intense work in which different physical aspects have been enhanced.
In the first of the training sessions, they sought to increase resistance to fatigue after 4 hours of effort. The second day, a flatter route but with a test uphill in the first part of training, and a subsequent team time trial in which to polish the technique of this discipline.
On the third day, a race simulation was carried out, seeking to emulate the rhythm of the competition in the first and last part of training. In addition, and also with the idea of polishing the technique, specific work was carried out on sprint launches.
To top it off, on the fourth day the squad completed a short but intense training session, which put an end to the four days of concentration.
The director Joaquín Gil values these days, “After the concentration in November, in which we were able to get to know each other better and manage technical aspects, in addition to giving some nutrition or physiotherapy sessions, the only thing left was to fine-tune the physical form. Now it was also sought to create a homogeneous block, polish tactical aspects and work on the fans or the time trial to be competitive in those disciplines. We are very excited to start the 2022 season.”
Satisfied with the work, the riders and technical direction of the Essax Team will debut in competition on February 4th at the Vuelta a Guadalentín, a 3-day race in which the leading role will be sought from the first moment, without forgetting the training of young people talents. The official presentation of all the teams of the Sax Cycling Club, made up of schools, cadets, youth and elite and sub-23, will be held on February 12th.
