Kaden Hopkins won the first race of the season in Spain representing ESSAX.
Hopkins who went into the season following his Silver Medal performance in the junior pan Am Games in Columbia proved too strong for the field of 103 riders.
Hopkins would complete the distance in a time of 1:44:52, he would finish 25 seconds ahead of the second place finisher Angel Llorett Pla who clocked 1:45.17, with Antonio Soriano finishing third in 1:45:23.
