BGA To Host Four-Ball Champions 2024

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Golf Association will be hosting their Four-Ball Championships this weekend Saturday, 3rd February and Sunday, 4th February at the Port Royal Golf Course. Some 68 participants have registered across the three divisions, Men’s Championship, Senior Men’s (Over 55) and Ladies Championship.

The duo of Jarryd Dillas and Damain Palanyandi have captured the title five times over the last six years, and will once again be out to defend their title. They are expected to be challenged by the team of Jevon Roberts and Oliver Betschart who form a formidable pair. Also, challenging for top honors will be the overseas team of Kirk Viehl and Jeff Eiserman. Viehl is no stranger to the island as he has participated in several tournaments in the past. Other top local teams that should be around the top of the leaderboard include Gordon Cox / Sam Butler, Roderick Forrest / Alex Evans, Matthew Durrant / Craig Brown, John King / Allistair Lynch and Roger Brangman and Shawn Knight.

The Ladies Championship is wide open this year as the defending champions Cindy Ratzlaff and Morgan Lightbourne will not be defending their title. However, Lightbourne has paired up with veteran Linda Down to form a formidable pair. Others expecting to challenge for the top honors will be Katrin Burnie / Carine Brule, Tracy Burgess / Ann Symonds, Kim Botelho / Alisa Sadeh, and the Mid Ocean pair of Valerie Nearon and Ann Marie DeSilva.

In the Men’s Senior Division, there will be a new champion as the team of Robert Vallis and Arthur Jones will not be defending their title. This opens the door for many of the pairs to challenge for the top spot. There are seven teams in the division with top contenders being the likes of Mike McCrimmon / Gary Carr, the brother pair of Tim and Barry Brewer and Craig Christensen and Miles Stephens.

The weather forecast is expected to offer a challenge over the two days so it may come down to which teams can negotiate through the blustery conditions.
