The Men’s Championship Division provided some drama when Bryce Gorrell eliminated the defending champion, Jarryd Dillas on the 19th hole. After being 4 down with 6 holes to play, Gorrell won the 13th, 15th, 17th and a lengthy putt for par on 18 returned the match to all square. On the 1st additional hole, Gorrell took the match with a Par, while Dillas had to settle for a Bogey.
In the Semi-Final round tomorrow morning, Gorrell who is visiting from Ohio, quite fittingly, will be paired against his brother Matt Gorrell while Jevon Roberts will face Eric West.
Matt Gorrell defeated Scott Barnett 2 & 1 in their Quarter-Final battle, while Roberts defeated Michael McCrimmon 3 & 2, and West got the better of Damian Palanyandi 6 & 4.
In the Ladies Championship Division, the Ladies completed their Quarter-Final round and Linda Down will now play Ann Symonds while Katrin Burnie will play Tracy Burgess.
Down got the better of Cindy Ratzlaff 8 & 7, while Symonds defeated Valerie Nearon 3 & 2. Burnie defeated Maria Harris 6 & 5, and Burgess defeated Tracy Nash 3 & 1.
In the Senior Men’s Championship, Barry Brewer will play Zane DeSilva and Craig Christensen will play Ian Page.
Brewer would advance to the Semi-Final after he defeated Steve Hickmott 4 & 3, while DeSilva won his match on the 19th Hole.
Christensen defeated Antony Than 4 & 3, while Page defeated Russell Smith 5 & 4.
