Pacers to Compete in 2023 Armory Youth Championships

Bermuda Pacers Track Club Head Coach Cal Simons wrote, “This weekend the Bermuda Pacers Track Club will continue to promote their track club’s overseas experiences as they compete in the 2023 Armory Youth Championships in New York. The 13-member team will compete in 29 individual events. This will be the third time the club has competed in this prestigious event.

The team will be led by eight, 2023 Carifta Games athletes.

In the 17-18 Boys and Girls Age Groups, the club would be represented by J’auza James who will compete in the High Jump, Long Jump, and 400 meters. Maximillian Reid will compete in the 400 and 800 meters. Shayla Cann will compete in the 17-18 Girls’ 400 and 800 meters and I’Aura Golding will compete in the 55-meter Hurdles and the 200 meters.

In the 15-16 Boys’ Divisions, Miles Outerbridge will compete in the 55 meters and 200 meters, while Anthony (AJ) Harkness competing in his first international event will compete in the 1600 meters and 3000 meters. While J’Naz Richards the lone female competitor in the 15-16 Girls’ Division will compete in the 55 meters and 200 meters.

In the 13-14 Boy’s Division the club will be represented by Andre Hollinsid who will compete in the 55 meters and 200 meters. Cameron Aktins also representing the club overseas for the first time will compete in the 1600 meters and the 3000 meters. The 13-14 Girls Age Group will be loaded with talent as Amaris Munya and Azari Jones both first-time Carifta Qualifiers will compete in the 400, 800, and 1600 meters.

The youngest age group representing the club, in the 11-12 Girls’ Division will see distance runner Riana Robinson who will compete in the 800 and 1600 meters, and Jasmine Reid-Rubaine who will compete in the 55 meters, 200 meters, and Long Jump.”
