 The Bermuda National Athletics Association has advised the Bermuda Media that Jah-Nhai Perinchief has been awarded a placement in the World Indoor Championships due to take place in Belgrade, Serbia from March 18th – 20th, 2022.
Despite Perinchief’s performance in the Tyson Invitational Men Triple Jump Invitational did not meet the Championships standard of 17.10m, hitting a winning leap of 16.91, placing him as the top-ranked Triple Jumper in the world.
Limited opportunities to compete in this event indoors as well as the short window he had available to qualify were factors impacting him achieving the standard.
World Athletics made the decision to grant him a place in the Championships based on his performances this season.
Notwithstanding this, we are confident that Perinchief will compete in the World Indoor Championships to the best of his ability and will make Bermuda Proud.
