www.islandstats.com can confirm via an emailed question to the Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) President Donna Raynor that the BNAA will not be holding the National Championships this year due to COVID-19.
Raynor said, “The BNAA Board discussed this and to put on the Championships, there are so many rules and criteria that we have to abide by as directed by World Athletics (WA) to host a Track Meet, we decided we would cancel it for this year.
Also, we wanted to be fair to the athletes who have not had a full season of training or competition.
We will continue to prepare for the Cross Country season which hopefully we will be able to hold and will have to be creative as well.”
