History will be made at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games scheduled to take place in San Salvador where the sport of Netball will be contested for the very first time, thanks to the advocacy of the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA).
For the first time in history, the sport will be played at the 24th edition, scheduled to take place in 2023 in San Salvador, El Salvador.
"Netball got, deservedly, our approval to take a seat at the regional table and with this accomplishment, the journey now begins to globalize the sport and the JOA stands ready to again play a signal role," said JOA President Christopher Samuda.
On hearing the news Bermuda Netball Association President Kimale Evans said, “I feel this is a major step towards Netball earning its rightful place in the world of sports. The sport of Netball is more than just a recreational activity to pass the time. It's long overdue that we are recognized across all Continents and not just Europe. Next step the Olympics!!”
