Bermuda ILCA4 Open National Championships 2022

The Bermuda ILCA4 Open National Championships took place in Granaway Deep, in challenging conditions.

A total of 9 sailors braved the conditions and completed 5 races in some strong breeze, which was the qualifier for the 2023 ILCA 4 Youth Under 18 World Championship, which will take place in Greece in July 2023.

Azhai Smith was crowned the 2022 Bermuda ILCA 4 National Champion, with 9 points, Smith had two wins, 2-second place finishes, and a third, but because of his age, he will miss out on the World Championships.

So second-place finisher Kipling Rossouw claimed the Boy’s qualifying for the spot in the ILCA 4 Youth World Championship, as he finished with 10 points. Rossouw had two wins, a second, and two-thirds.

The top Under 18 Girl finisher was Ciara Wells who was 4th overall qualifying for the spot in the ILCA 4 Youth World Championship, with 18 points. Wells had four fourth-place finishes and one second-place finish.
