The weather has been “stuck on beautiful” at the Rolex Miami OCR going on in the waters of the Biscane Bay in Miami, but more important to the 529 sailors competing from 41 countries including Bermuda’s Olympic hopefuls Jesse and Zander Kirkland have turned the corner to enter the regatta’s home stretch.
The Kirkland’s slide down the 49er Skiff leaderboard continued when they fell a further four places after the days three races.
Starting out in 10th place with 51 points the pair had a On the Course Side Start in the first race, they then finished 10th in the second race of the day before closing out with a 17th place finish in the third and final race.
The Kirkland’s now have a total of 93 points for the Regatta.
