Day Two of the US Sailing’s Rolex Miami OCR Regatta, will see Bermuda Olympic hopefuls Jesse and Zander Kirkland get coverage from other local media now that they have seen the coverage on www.islandstats.com.
The Kirkland’s were back on the water, with the temperature is 80 degrees in Miami.
Light winds near the shore of Biscayne Bay with 4-7 knots in the outer bay started the day, with the wind speed to increasing 6-10 knots by later in the morning. By afternoon the breeze jump to 8-11 knots, but it was mainly sunny with a few patchy high clouds.
The Kirkland’s started the in 7th place but by the end of the days racing they had fallen three places to 10th overall in the 23 boat 49er Skiff Fleet.
The Fleet for the second day in a row sailed three races, the first race saw them record a 15th place finish, this was followed by another 15th place finish and then they closed out with a 12th place finish.
The Kirkland’s now have an overall total of 51 points.
