College sailor Peter Miller had another successful match racing outing recently at the Oakcliff Evo-Sport "Clinegatta", an ISAF Grade 4 event.
Miller and his team placed 3rd in a field of 10 teams and was the leader going into the second and final day of racing. The team raced the Oakcliff Sailing Center owned Swedish Match 40s. These thrilling boats are used on the World Match Racing Tour, and will be used in the Knickerbocker Cup sailed in Long Island Sound in a few weeks.
Miller will be a senior this September at Connecticut College and was the Captain of the college's "Camels" nationally ranked sailing team this past season. His 3rd place finish in his second match race event pushed him to 370th in the ISAF World rankings.
Miller is considering fielding a team for the Bermuda National Match Race Championships where the winners gain entry to the Argo Gold Cup.
Day 2 - CORK International Regatta
Bermuda’s Owen Siese continues to lead after two days of the CORK International Radial Qualifier Fleet with 8 points.
Siese finished second in the only race of the day, he now leads second placed Sandy Beatty from Canada by 7 points, while Devan Dube and Sarah Douglas are T3rd with 24 points.
Ellie Wollmann and her crew Amy-Katherine Turner are competing in the CORK International 420 Fleet, the pair fell from 15th to 17th with 31 points.
In the CORK International Optimist Fleet, Ceci Wollmann ended Day Two in 5th with 34 points, Wollmann finished 5th in the only race in the Class for the Day.
Mickey Wollmann is in 13th with 64 points and Campbell Patton is in 33rd with 143 points.
