Fitted Dinghy Granaway Deep Round Up

The 2011 Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Racing Season continued in Granaway Deep, Contest III with Somers Kempe at the helm won all three races on the day. Kempe and his crew wrapped up the B.A.A. Cup, W.H. Bennett Memorial Trophy and Spithead Trophy.

In the B.A.A. Cup race Elizabeth II and their skipper Gareth Williams finished second, while Challenger II with skipper Martin Siese finished third and Victory IV with Mark Soares finished fourth.

In the W.H. Bennett Memorial Trophy race, Challenger II finished second, while Elizabeth II finished third and Victory IV finished fourth.

In the final Spithead Trophy race, Contest III won the race by edging out Victory IV at the finish line as the two boats battled, while Elizabeth II finished third and Challenger II finished fourth.

Cooper & Smith Compete in Sunfish Championships

After four races in the 2011 Sunfish North American Championship, Malcolm Smith moved himself up the leader board from 11th to 5th, while Mackenzie Cooper moved up from 9th to 6th.

Smith finished 13th in the first race day and the third of the regatta, he then finished 2nd in the second race and has 48 points.

Cooper finished 5th in the first race and then finished 14th in the second, he also has 48 points
