Nathan Trott and his FC Copenhagen teammates secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Heart of Midlothian in the UEFA Conference League delighting the 24,000-strong crowd at Parken Stadium.
Copenhagen dominated the early exchanges, with Robert Skov and Mohamed Elyounoussi both going close to opening the scoring. Hearts grew into the game as the half wore on, but they rarely troubled Trott, who was a commanding presence in the Copenhagen goal.
Amin Chiakha saw a penalty appeal waved away before the break, but he was rewarded for his tireless efforts three minutes into the second half. The forward reacted quickest to tap home the rebound after Elyounoussi's initial shot was saved, following a mazy run from the Norwegian international.
Copenhagen continued to press for a second goal, laying siege to the Hearts goal. Despite creating several good chances, the Lions had to wait until the 78th minute to double their advantage. Chiakha was brought down in the box by the Hearts goalkeeper, and Kevin Diks stepped up to coolly convert the resulting penalty.
This victory sees Copenhagen strengthen their position in their Conference League group. Trott, sporting his distinctive Bermuda pink kit, will be pleased with another clean sheet and a solid performance from his team.
