Trott & FC Copenhagen Defeat Kilmarnock

IslandStats.com
Nathan Trott’s F.C. Copenhagen coach Jacob Neestrup says he was left "satisfied" with the 2 - 0 result over Kilmarnock on Thursday evening but remains hopeful that his side can begin to create more chances across 90 minutes in the future.

Kevin Diks' penalty and a late Rasmus Falk strike earned F.C. Copenhagen a two-goal advantage heading into the second leg of their UEFA Conference League playoff at Kilmarnock next week.

It was a game of limited goalmouth action and, while F.C. Copenhagen secured the result, the boss says he's looking for even more from his side.

"All in all I'm satisfied, but of course I would have liked to have seen us create more open chances, considering how much we had the ball.

"It was a difficult challenge against a team that, as expected, were very, very deep, but I think we were disciplined and controlled, and gave nothing away at the back. I can't put a finger on the performance, apart from our play on the break, because it wasn't aggressive enough and, as I said, we should have created more chances than we did.

"But it's the kind of game where, if the first goal had come earlier, I think we could have scored more. Winning 1-0 would have been fine, 2-0 is of course better, but still not perfect."

Next up for F.C. Copenhagen is a trip to FC Nordsjælland on Sunday in the Danish Superliga, before a trip to Scotland on Thursday.

"There is still some work that needs to be completed next week, but now our focus is on the away game against Nordsjælland on Sunday," says Neestrup.

"And after the return game we also have a derby before we head into the international break. It's the block of fixtures we've been talking about all along that we need to get through, and then we can evaluate the first period of the season."
