Trott Attracts Interest as Contract Renewal Heats Up

IslandStats.com
Nathan Trott is currently spending the season away from West Ham on loan, and the club apparently have a very clever move lined up to sell him permanently.

The 25-year-old recently admitted that he could actually leave West Ham United on a permanent basis this summer.

Trott, signed by West Ham‘s academy in 2016, has primarily featured on loan spells due to a lack of playing time with the senior team. His current loan stint is with Vejle Boldklub in the Danish league.

Trott’s performances in Denmark haven’t gone unnoticed. He’s kept six clean sheets in 27 games, conceding 32 goals. This form has attracted “concrete interest” from Danish and even some foreign clubs.

Trott’s contract with West Ham expires at the end of the season. While interested clubs dream of landing him on a free transfer, the situation might not be that simple.

West Ham reportedly have an option to extend Trott’s contract for two more years. This extension would allow them to command a transfer fee for the goalkeeper. With the deadline to make this decision not until June, West Ham holds the upper hand in Trott’s future.

Overall, Trott, despite limited playing time at West Ham, has impressed on loan in Denmark. Several clubs are interested, but West Ham is likely to extend his contract, ensuring they receive a fee for the goalkeeper’s transfer.
