NAHKI WELLS & KANE CRICHLOW

Both Nahki Wells and Kane Crichlow started on the bench for Bristol City and Watford in their teams battled in a goalless draw at Ashton Gate.

Prior to the start of the match, Watford FC confirmed three professionals from its first-team squad are currently serving a 10-day period of isolation due to positive tests for COVID-19.

Bristol City’s Saturday’s matchwinner against Derby County, Famara Diédhiou, returned to the starting XI, as one of three changes to the side. The striker replaced Chris Martin, while Taylor Moore and Tommy Rowe stepped in to cover defensive options as Wells missed out. Captain Tomas Kalas was absent through a tight quad, so Jack Hunt took the armband.

Wells replaced Antoine Semenyo in the latter stages, but he could not find a breakthrough either.

With the point, Wells and Bristol City remain in third, three points behind Championship Leaders Norwich who have 27 points, while Crichlow, who only gets coverage locally by online media in Bermuda, and his Watford teammates are one point back of Bristol City in fifth place.

TRISTAN HALL

Tristan Hall and his Holbaek Football Club teammates defeated Brabrand 3 – 1 in their Denmark Division 2 match-up.

Brabrand took the lead in the 16th minute when Nygaard Andersen scored, but Holbaek would draw level in the 20th minute when Malte Sjorslev scored.

On the stroke of half-time, Holbaek took the lead with a goal from Jeppe Illum. Holbaek then secured the win in the 70th minute when Victor Sorensen scored.

Diego Maradona

The Bermuda Football Association joins the global football family in mourning the passing of one of football’s most iconic personalities – Diego Maradona.

BFA President Mark Wade stated, “Today we learned of the passing of Diego Armando Maradona. His life took many turns, but he will be remembered for his displays in the famed number 10 shirt. He showed his potential on the international stage making his debut at 17 for his beloved Argentina and realized that potential in 1986 when he captained his country to become FIFA World Cup Champions. I thank Argentina and “El Pibe de Oro” for helping me fall in love with the beautiful game.”

The BFA sends words of condolences to all those near and far who cheered and called themselves fans of Diego Maradona. May he rest in peace!
