BFA Postpones First League Games of the Season

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) has decided to postpone the Premier Division matches scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th.

This decision comes as a result of approaching Hurricane Teddy.

BFA President Mark Wade said, “The Executive Council deliberated today and considered all of the latest information from the EMO and the National Hurricane Center. And while we are anxious to get back to the beautiful game; we made the difficult but sensible decision to postpone the first round of Premier Division League matches given the unpredictable nature of hurricanes.

Our members can now concentrate on preparation for the storm.

Hurricane Teddy threatens Bermuda this weekend and is expected to make its closest approach to the island as a Category 2 or 3 hurricane, late Sunday or Monday morning. Therefore, the Premier Division Week #1 fixtures will be played on a later date, yet to be confirmed.”
